Heartbreak Hotel

Well, it's been little while since my last post - working 6 days a week has kept me pretty busy! However, many noteworthy things have happened... here's one of them.

About two weeks ago (guess it was the 17th?), I came in for my usual appointment. I was at an emotional crossroads, trying to find happiness and peace at home while contnuing to fulfll my career dreams. I was quite upset, and desperately seeking a solution to the problem, including additional counseling outside. After our usual checkup, Dr. V- suggested I sing. Yes, sing - and make sure everyone could hear me. He wanted me to start off with the painful songs that reminded me of my situation and then work to happier ones. I would have said that was crazy, but by now I know better (though I still laughed).

I couldn't find the words at first, I couldn't think of anything at all.. my mind was blank. He started me off by singing two tunes himself to encourage me (I was able to sing along). During acupunture I started to hum a familiar old tune from a musical, and wound up singing Evanescence. I sang until tears choked my throat up. During the remaining procedure, they turned out the lights and let me be for awhile. I cried as loud and hard as if someone had died - my heart felt shattered in a million pieces. I felt totally alone.

After a little while, V- returned, turned on the lights, and asked me how I felt.

Me: Physically, I feel much better. Emotionally I wish I were dead.
V-:Good. Now that you've died, you can be reborn.
Would you like to dance?

He held out his hand and smiled. It was just so silly, I couldn't help but laugh again. But you know what? I felt better!

We went out to the patient waiting area, and encouraged everyone to dance. Though I- & K- continued to work, they did stop a little while to watch me dance (I think everyone did!) - they remarked that I could probably make money dancing for a living (there's a thought... dancing as a hobby!). Not caring who saw, I just let the rhythm take over - just freely express myself. Just as I'd filled the air with sadness a short time before, I filled the room with positive energy. I think it was infectious, in a good way.

One of the patients smiled and asked if every day was like this; I told her every day is a party at the end. I hope, just like this day, that everything does have a happy ending.

Organic Shrimp?! Ocean Boy Farms, Inc.

On a detoxification diet, you don't ever eat shellfish. They're the roaches of the sea, eating whatever garbage they find in the water. Those toxins get passed on...and you know the rest of the story.

Still, when you've grown accustom to eating them at parties, sometimes you miss them a little.

So, Ocean Boy Farms have apparently come up with the first organic shrimp! The shrimp live in clean water, only eat organic, and they're antibiotic/hormone-free/chemical-free (well, I can't see how you'd give antibiotics to a shrimp anyway)!

Ocean Boy Farms, Inc. - The Home of Florida Sweet Shrimp

Our local guys sell them in 5 lb batches at $75, so they are about $3 per pound more than the regular. Might be worth it for a big cookout, or holiday meal.
